Restaurant Partners

When you make a reservation, relevant personal data (such as name, contact details, booking details, and payment status) is shared with the restaurant to enable fulfilment of the reservation.

Restaurants act as independent data controllers and are responsible for handling personal data in compliance with the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 once received.

Service Providers

We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Services, including hosting providers, analytics services, marketing tools, and payment processors.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal data where required by law or in response to valid legal or governmental requests.


3A. Payments, Restaurants & Data Protection

Payment Processing

Where payments, deposits, or prepaid reservations are enabled, transactions are processed securely by our third-party payment service provider, Peach Payments.

  • Payment details are entered directly on secure, encrypted payment pages hosted by Peach Payments.

  • Bookatable.mu does not collect, store, or process full payment card details.

  • Peach Payments processes payment data in accordance with its own privacy policy, security standards, and applicable financial regulations.

Bookatable.mu receives only limited transactional data (such as payment confirmation, amount paid, and reference numbers) for booking confirmation, customer support, record-keeping, and compliance purposes.


Restaurant Responsibility

Restaurants receiving personal data through Bookatable.mu act as independent data controllers and are solely responsible for:

  • Using personal data strictly for reservation fulfilment and service delivery

  • Managing refunds, disputes, chargebacks, and guest communications

  • Implementing appropriate security measures to protect personal data

Bookatable.mu is not responsible for the data protection practices, security measures, or compliance failures of restaurant partners.


Lawful Basis for Processing

Personal data related to reservations and payments is processed based on:

  • Performance of a contract (reservation and payment facilitation)

  • Legitimate interests (platform operation, fraud prevention, dispute management)

  • Legal obligations (accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance)


4. Security of Your Information

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal data, including secure infrastructure, access controls, and encrypted transmissions where applicable.

However, no system is completely secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security, nor can we guarantee the security practices of third-party providers or restaurant partners.
